The Warrior Group Unveiled
The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of heroes who will split off from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might seem mismatched, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, striking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then cleared his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- But, their status as key figures in House Halovar could enable the group access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in quest for the traitor.
